Best in ATL

How Winners Are Chosen

Best in Atlanta recognizes service businesses that hold a high standard in their neighborhood. Selection runs against the four standards below, and the same standards apply to every nomination.

The Standards

1

Years in business

The business has been serving Atlanta or the greater Atlanta area for at least three years under current ownership.

2

Review volume and rating

A consistent record of positive customer reviews on Google, held over time rather than earned in a burst.

3

Community contribution

Evidence that the business gives something back to its neighborhood: hiring and training locally, supporting local causes, or work that serves the community beyond its own customers.

4

Local reputation

Standing among the people who would know. Repeat customers, word of mouth, and recognition from local press, industry bodies, or other Atlanta businesses.

How Selection Works

Nominations come from three places

Our own research into Atlanta service businesses, the public, and past winners.

Every nomination is reviewed

Businesses that meet the four standards are contacted directly, and a shoot is scheduled at a time that suits them.

Not every business is selected

Nominations that are not selected stay on file and are reviewed again as the program continues.

What It Costs

Nothing.

There is no fee to be nominated, to be selected, or to receive the video. No purchase is required to win, and none afterward.

Who Presents Best in Atlanta

Best in Atlanta is presented by Greaton SEO, an Atlanta digital marketing company. We fund it, we run the selection, and we film every winner ourselves.

We say that plainly because an award that hides who is behind it is not worth displaying. Some winners go on to work with us. Most do not. The video and the badge are theirs either way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I nominate my own business?

Yes. Self-nominations are reviewed against the same four standards as any other nomination, and nominating yourself does not guarantee selection.

Do winners have to buy anything?

No. There is no fee at any stage, and no purchase is required to be selected or to keep the video.

How long does the review take?

Nominations are reviewed on a rolling basis. If a business is selected, we contact the owner directly.

What happens on filming day?

We come to the business, film the space, and sit down with the owner to capture their story. The owner approves the final edit before it goes live.

Who owns the video?

The winner. The files are theirs to use on their site, their social channels, and their Google profile.
